Since joining the Philadelphia Eagles, we've become so accustomed to Saquon Barkley breaking 60-yarders that we're almost confused when he doesn't. We begin asking questions like 'Is everything okay with Saquon?'. That's how good he has been. He has sometimes made us forget that every NFL team has NFL players on the roster.
Week 1 evaporated as quickly as it arrived. Philadelphia survived its first test vs. the Dallas Cowboys. It was Jalen Hurts who would lead the Eagles in rushing yards and rushing TDs as he notched 62 yards and two trips to the end zone on 14 carries.
Barkley collected 60 yards and a rushing TD on 18 totes, suitable for a meager 3.3 yards per carry, but no one should be disappointed or fearful. He'll more than make up for that as we journey through the regular season.
It's common knowledge. Every team that lines up vs. Philadelphia will have stopping the running game as one of their key points of emphasis. Some will do a better job than others of finding success, but just so we know everyone understands the importance, RB1 has a stern warning for the viewing public.
Saquon Barkley says he knows a theme this year will be teams focusing on stopping the Eagles running game. Says they would be a “fool” not to

And if they are foolish enough to not try to stop the running game?

Saquon Barkley and the Eagles offense will again be dominant in 2025.
We've heard the concerns. No NFL tailback to have exceeded 2,000 yards rushing has come close to equaling a similar output in the season that followed that effort. We've mentioned Barkley's heavy workload last season. Then, there's the Madden curse and everything that comes along with that narrative.
Is anyone looking for a bold prediction? Here's a theory about how Barkley's sophomore campaign in the City of Brotherly Love plays out for the Eagles this season: 1,500 yards rushing, 250 yards receiving, and a dozen touchdowns.
Book it. It's hard to do what RB1 did in successive seasons. As a matter of fact, no one has done it, but once the smoke clears and the dust settles, expect to see evidence that there is plenty of tread left on the tire for the guy in the Number 26 jersey.
