Former Florida State and Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher is set to change roles at the end of this week. Fisher will make his debut on the ACC Network on Friday at 7 p.m. ET.

He will be part of the ACC Football Road Trip: SMU broadcast, live from Dallas. The network is airing that show, which features Taylor Tannebaum, Eddie Royal and Eric Mac Lain on Friday night.

News of Fisher’s foray into television first surfaced on July 22. It was reported then that he’ll join the ACC Network as a studio analyst, including as a part of ACC Huddle this year.

“I’m looking forward to joining ACC Network and the Huddle team this season,” Fisher said in a statement. “I’ve always had tremendous respect for this conference, and I’m looking forward to breaking down the action each week with such a talented group.”

Fisher got his head coaching start in the ACC at Florida State from 2010-17. The Seminoles won a national title under his watch as he went 83-23 overall and 48-16 in conference play before his departure for Texas A&M. FSU had six 10-win seasons under his watch and won three ACC titles.

Fisher then took over at Texas A&M in 2018 and went 45-25 until his firing in 2023, when he received a record buyout. He then spent last year away from football while contributing to SiriusXM, but will now join ACC Network and ACC Huddle this year as the show travels to marquee games every Saturday.

At his height, Florida State went 14-0 during that national championship run, led by Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston. The Seminoles took down Auburn in the title game, 34-31, to complete the undefeated season. Fisher won the AFCA’s Coach of the Year award that year, as well.

In 2018, Fisher arrived at Texas A&M and led the program to three straight bowl victories and four consecutive eight-win seasons to start his tenure. The Aggies also landed the No. 1-ranked recruiting class during the 2021 cycle to enter the season as the top-ranked team in the country. However, Texas A&M struggled to a 5-7 record to miss a bowl game entirely in 2022.

The 2023 season was also up-and-down, but the Aggies had a 6-4 record through 10 games. However, the university opted to fire Fisher mid-season, paying him a record $77.6 million buyout in the process. He then took last season to spend with his family, but will now join the ACC Network team.
