Undrafted rookie Jared Ivey was spotted ahead of practice Tuesday, signifying he made the Seattle Seahawks53-man roster.
The News Tribune’s Gregg Bell tweeted the following video at 1:41 p.m. PST.

Ivey is one of the easiest players to spot on the Seahawks. His massive 6’6” 285 frame sticks out even among an NFL line of scrimmage and he doesn’t wear gloves unlike most of his colleagues. He was a polarizing 2025 NFL Draft prospect coming out of Ole Miss, with most mock drafts compiled on his profile on nflmockdraftdatabase.com including him as a day 2 draft pick. Bryce Lazenby of Sporting News even mocked him to the Seahawks in the third round in February. However, athletic testing numbers from the NFL Combine and his Ole Miss pro day looked terrible and scared teams off from investing draft capital in him, so he came to Seattle on a UDFA deal.
It’s worth noting that his pre-draft process was sound- he was invited to the NFL Combine because he shows up on tape and in-game. He participated in interviews and got his height, weight, hand size and arm length verified at the mecca of measurables, then waited for the Ole Miss pro day to participate in combine drills. His speed, quickness and strength are all lacking compared to other players at his position but can’t take the qualitative data Ivey displays on tape into account. Ivey can win on the height and weight outliers alone- and won the Seahawks over in what could be a good fit for Seattle's need.
The Seahawks look razor thin at defensive interior after releasing the 53-man roster today- but Ivey could be the solution. His size makes more sense on the interior at the NFL level, but if you shift him around with other players- Byron Murphy II and Jarran Reed- you can free them up to start at their natural positions with a bigger gap-clogger inside. They can all play with some level of positional fluidity, but a move to the interior best utilizes his slow albeit big and smart gap-clogging skillset.
