Kaizer Chiefs target new striker as Mayele moves closer to Saudi Arabia

With Pyramids FC striker Fiston Mayele reportedly close to a Saudi move, Kaizer Chiefs are accelerating their hunt for attacking reinforcements—shifting attention to a new Central African prospect.

Egyptian journalist Ahmed Shobeir revealed that Mayele, a pivotal figure in Pyramids’ CAF Champions League success, is pushing for an exit despite his goalscoring form. "Club officials admit his departure is highly likely," Shobeir stated.

As Mayele slips from reach, Chiefs have turned to Cameroonian forward Ravel Djoumekou, 25, currently at DR Congo’s FC Saint Eloi Lupopo. A source confirmed, "He’s a proven striker who could add depth. Scouts are vetting him carefully before any move."

Despite signing six players this window, Chiefs recognize the need for an experienced forward, particularly with CAF Confederation Cup commitments looming. "They’re assessing multiple options—some high-profile, some under the radar," an insider noted.

Meanwhile, long-linked target Fawaaz Basadien’s absence from training has sparked interest from Mamelodi Sundowns, complicating Chiefs’ plans.

Under new coach Nasreddine Nabi, Chiefs aim to rebuild after a European preseason, desperate to revive their trophy ambitions following recent struggles. The coming weeks could define their campaign.

Eagles coach calls out star player for being out of shape: ‘Both he and I have talked about that’

https://ift.tt/5x1sACw PHILADELPHIA — Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter is still not in his best form yet. After getting ejected before the first snap in Week 1 for spitting on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott , Carter made his season debut in Philadelphia’s Week 2 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. As one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL, Carter is expected to take over games, but that didn’t happen against the Chiefs. “He had some good rushes, but he needs to round into better shape,” Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said on Tuesday. “Both he and I have talked about that. He readily admits that. I think we’ll even get more (out of him). For everything that has gone on in his world, I thought he played pretty good.” Carter amassed two tackles and three quarterback hits, while playing 80% of the snaps. He has the talent to be more productive. Last year, Carter became an unstoppable force after ...

Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane ready to take on English rivals in Champions League

https://ift.tt/SwpIz0O Bayern Munich star Harry Kane cannot wait to hit the grass at the Allianz Arena to face off with Chelsea FC in the Champions League. “We back ourselves to beat any team at the Allianz Arena. It’s up to you [journalists] and fans to decide who are the favourites. We’re feeling very good right now. If we want to beat Chelsea, we have to perform at our peak. It will be a tough and great game. Chelsea did very well at the Club World Cup and right now in the Premier League,“ said Kane (as captured by @iMiaSanMia ). When asked about the statement made by Uli Hoeneß, Kane respectfully disagreed. “A club like Bayern always expects to win every competition. I wouldn’t say we’re underdogs, even though we’re playing against the best teams in Europe. Now begins a long journey, hopefully until May. I don’t want to look too far ahead. We want to be as high as possible in the league phase table. It all starts tomorrow,” Kane said. Harkening back to last season’s Champions...
