Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee reportedly has a new suitor who is trying to prise him away from his band of supporters at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman has been enduring highs and lows since making the move from Bologna to Man Utd last summer. But after being harshly cheered off the pitch by a section of the OT home crowd in December, he has now cemented himself as a bona fide favourite thanks to his vastly improving displays.

While his scoring stats are far from impressive, his overall influence on the team has been largely positive as of late. Therefore, the Man Utd supporters can be heard singing the attacker’s name in almost every contest, even after missing the decisive spot-kick in the penalty shootouts against Fulham in the FA Cup.

But while the Old Trafford fans would be happy to keep Zirkzee at Carrington, Antonio Conte reportedly wants him at Napoli.

According to TuttoJuve, the former Chelsea and Spurs manager has identified the 23-year-old as the ‘ideal’ profile to bolster the Partenopei attack for next season, largely due to his young age and tendency to roam all over the pitch.

It should be noted that Napoli signed Scott McTominay from Man Utd last summer, and the latter has been one of the club’s most consistent players this season. Moreover, the Southern Italian giants have been constantly linked with Alejandro Garnacho, while recent rumours suggested they could go after Rasmus Hojlund.

On the other hand, Man Utd have identified Napoli’s Victor Osihmen as one of their main transfer targets for the striker role. The Nigerian is currently on loan at Galatasaray after falling out with the club’s hierarchy, and will be looking to seal a permament transfer to a bigger club next summer.

Therefore, it remains to be seen if United would be willing to add Zirkzee – or another one of their players – to an exchange deal that would help them snatch Osimhen.
