Latest Derek Carr, Saints news could impact Patriots at 2025 NFL draft

https://ift.tt/E3BqCFT New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr is reportedly dealing with a shoulder injury that could potentially threaten his availability for the 2025 season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport . That creates a situation where the Saints could be more desperate than ever to get a quarterback. They currently own the No. 9 overall pick of the 2025 NFL draft, and if Colorado's Shedeur Sanders isn't a top-three pick, it wouldn't be a surprise if they start eyeing a possible trade with the New England Patriots to move up to No. 4 on the draft board to get him. Make no mistake, the Patriots are not locked into the No. 4 pick, especially if wideout Travis Hunter or edge rusher Abdul Carter aren't available. They could create more value for a rebuild by maneuvering down the board and stockpiling more draft picks. The Saints would likely be forced to give up the No. 9 overall pick, No. 40 pick and perhaps a 2026 pick to make it a worthwhile de...

Armagh expected Antrim 'fight' and got it - Forker

https://ift.tt/E3BqCFT Armagh captain Aidan Forker insisted afterwards that the All-Ireland champions had expected to find themselves "in a fight" in west Belfast. That made a certain degree of sense. If the Saffrons' players weren't going to be fired up on this day of all days after fighting the 'Corrigan or nowhere' campaign, all during a period when they suffered relegation back to Division Four, then there was going to be something seriously amiss with them. But for seasoned Saffrons watchers, the sight of them getting in the faces of Kieran McGeeney's players and indulging in some dark arts off-the-ball stuff, did induce an occasional elevation of the eyebrows. Some of the Armagh fans below me vocalised their displeasure at Antrim's first-half tactics, with Antrim manager Andy McEntee's Meath background being referred to on a number of occasion by one gentleman. It all made for an entertaining spectacle out on the pitch and in the stand. ...

Averette-Brown leads Wayne track teams with high expectations

https://ift.tt/htLEDTr Apr. 11—Unlike the Ohio weather, Wayne track and field has been hot all spring. After the boys and girls both won to sweep the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches state indoor meet in March, the Warriors have had strong showings in four meets to start the outdoor season. "Our very first meet, we went down to South Carolina and our boys won the meet down there and we set meet records and school records as well," said Michael Hernandez, a Wayne alumnus who has been the head coach of the Warriors track teams since 1997 and was an assistant and Wayne athlete himself before that. "And that kind of set the tone because those meet records and school records were pretty impressive records." Scintillating sophomore Jamier Averette-Brown had a hand in setting three new school marks, running a 10.47-second 100-meter, a 21.67-second 200 and anchoring the 100-meter relay team that finished in 41.28 seconds. The relay mark had stood sin...

Details of Bayern Munich’s contract offer to Leroy Sané

https://ift.tt/WVbv6ZO Details of Bayern Munich’s contract offer to Leroy Sané Bayern Munich have reportedly opted to offer attacker Leroy Sané a contract extension. This is reported by both Florian Plettenberg and Kicker who note that the German giants have offered a three-year deal, but are asking the 29-year-old to take a pay cut. Plettenberg speaks of a 50 percent reduction in base pay while Kicker doesn’t cite specific figures.  A return to form and praise from his teammates evidently leave Bayern interested in retaining Sané’s services. Max Eberl and the FCB administrative team must also work quickly to ensure full commitment from players with expiring contracts ahead of the coming Club World Cup in June/July . According to Plettenberg , Sané could still earn three quarters of his current salary if certain performance-based incentives are met. Thus far this year, Sané has scored 11 goals and contributed six assists in 36 appearances across all competitions. The Esse...

Mizzou defensive end Jahkai Lang plans to enter transfer portal

https://ift.tt/trXzk3x Missouri received another departure from its program Wednesday. Redshirt sophomore Jahkai Lang plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he announced on Instagram. He joined backup quarterback Drew Pyne , who committed to Bowling Green, as the second player to leave Columbia. Lang made the decision public a day after coach Eli Drinkwitz addressed the media Tuesday. Drinkwitz noted the depth and experience within the defensive line room for this upcoming season and mentioned he expected up to eight transfers in the second window. The transfer portal will officially open April 16 and close April 25. Lang, a former three-star weakside defensive end, signed with the Tigers in the 2023 class as the No. 16 recruit in the state of Missouri. The Troy (Mo.) Buchanan product did not appear in his first season, earning a redshirt, before providing depth to the defensive end position in 2024. The 6-foot-3, 252-pound lineman appeared in 12 games this past year, t...
